Economic and Social Committee call on European Commission to immediately review general product safety directive

Brussels, 11/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - In its own-initiative opinion of product safety, the European Economic and Social Committee (ESC) wonders why the Commission has not carried out the review of the general product safety directive (GPSD), provided for in the very directive. Voices from organised civil society have pointed out to the ESC that the directive was not working particularly well, calling for its review.
