ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) insurance

The Canadian branch of the Dutch insurance banker ING (net profits EUR 4.11 billion in the first nine months of 1999 with 90,000 employed worldwide) and the company TRANSAMERICA CANADA (Dutch group AEGON) are to conclude a commercial alliance in life insurance. The agreement provides for the acquisition by TRANSAMERICA CANADA of 100% of NN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, the life insurance branch of ING in Canada. ING CANADA, for its part, undertakes to distribute TRANSAMERICA products in this sector.
