17/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 December, the European Commission adopted the evaluation of Creative Europe, the EU’s funding programme for culture and the media, for the period 2014-2020 and the current mid-term programme. In this way, Creative Europe will have made a major contribution both to preserving cultural diversity and to improving competitiveness in the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. As a result, supported films and series were shown more often than comparable works that were not supported. The ‘Culture’ strand has funded more than 1,800 projects, involving 6,700 organisations and almost 500,000 mobility days. The guarantee mechanism, implemented with the European Investment Fund, has mobilised almost €2 billion in loans, reducing the shortfall in access to finance by up to 30%. The report stresses that financial support is essential to adapt to technological and market challenges. The report: https://aeur.eu/f/k1q (NP)
