17/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 December in Strasbourg, the European Parliament approved by 627 votes to 13, with 5 abstentions, the renewal of the ‘Partnership in Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area’ (PRIMA) agreement with Jordan. Signed in July (see EUROPE 13676/38), this new agreement strengthens collaboration on key Mediterranean priorities such as climate resilience, sustainable food systems and inclusive economic development. It also ensures Jordan’s continued access to PRIMA funding and partnerships, consolidating its role in the EU’s wider research and innovation efforts. Jordan will contribute €4.5 million to the partnership between 2025 and 2027. Read the European Parliament recommendation: https://aeur.eu/f/k24 (AD)
