On Wednesday 17 December, the European Commission announced that it would be allocating €205 million in 2026 to co-finance activities to promote EU agri-food products, both within the Union and internationally.
It adopted the 2026 promotion policy work programme.
Up to €160 million will be paid out in the form of grants to co-finance programmes run by producer groups and other professional organisations in the agri-food sector. Of this amount, €150 million is divided between promotion on third-country markets and the EU internal market, with envelopes of €70.3 million and €79.7 million respectively. €10 million has been set aside for crisis measures.
One of the key initiatives for 2026 will be the launch of a new campaign to promote European food. The aim of the campaign is to increase consumption of EU food products.
Outside the European Union, the programmes will target regions and countries with strong growth potential for European agri-food products, including the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore and North America.
