17/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 December in Strasbourg, the European Parliament adopted - by 493 votes in favour, 127 against and 38 abstentions - its resolution aimed at improving and supporting military mobility (see EUROPE 13759/27). It welcomes the European Commission’s proposal to increase the military mobility budget to over €17 billion in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034 (see EUROPE 13683/3). It recommends working towards a ‘military Schengen area’ and calls on EU countries and the Commission to invest more in transport infrastructure, particularly along the four military mobility corridors. The European Parliament Committees on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) and Security and Defence (SEDE) will now begin their legislative work on the measures relating to military mobility, presented by the Commission in November (see EUROPE 13755/1).
