17/12/25 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament adopted, on Wednesday 17 December in Strasbourg, its negotiating position on the review of the regulation on the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC) with 604 votes in favour, 37 against and 18 abstentions. The European Parliament followed the Commission’s proposal, which aims to define the framework for the creation and operation of these gigafactories of innovation and data for artificial intelligence (AI), with rules on funding and supply and protection measures for start-ups and scale-ups. The review should enable public-private partnerships to be set up to mobilise funds to develop these technologies. For its part, the EU Council had already adopted its negotiating position on Tuesday 9 December (see EUROPE 13769/8). To read the European Parliament’s position: https://aeur.eu/f/k1y (AD)
