Fines for four EU countries that have not transposed directive on open data and re-use of public sector information

22/05/25 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 22 May, the Court of Justice of the European Union fined four Member States for failing to notify the European Commission of their measures transposing Directive 2019/1024/EC on open data and the re-use of public sector information into national law: - €10 million fine for the Netherlands (Case C-213/23); - €2.1 million for Belgium (Case C-215/23); - €900,000 for Bulgaria (Case C-237/23); - €250,000 for Latvia (Case C-238/23).
