22/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 21 May, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway signed a joint declaration on strengthening coordination of foreign and security policy within the European Economic Area (EEA). The agreement covers the development of cooperation in the fields of peace, security and defence, the promotion of human rights, gender balance and equality, the strengthening of political dialogue at ministerial, senior official and working group level, the alignment of the three countries with EU foreign policy, including its restrictive measures, and joint diplomatic initiatives.
