The German National Automobile Trade Federation (ZDK) and Mobilians, the French employers’ organisation for the distribution of automotive and mobility services, called on political decision-makers, on Tuesday 9 April, to move on to a phase of consolidation in the decarbonisation of the automotive sector.
These organisations do not wish to go back on the objectives set during this mandate, but are asking for help with implementation. “The automotive industry is innovating and investing heavily. It’s about having a more global and horizontal vision of the sector, which is not limited to the industry”, Xavier Horent, General Delegate of Mobilians, said to the press.
In his view, the EU’s sovereignty is at stake, and the next step is to establish conditions conducive to the decarbonisation trajectory. “This is a stage of consolidation, deployment and alignment of these conditions”, he stressed.
At the same time, the two organisations published a document detailing the actions they believe should be taken during the next mandate.
