Brussels, 10/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 April, the European Commission selected 42 new projects for the deployment of alternative fuel infrastructures, which will benefit from more than €424 million in Community aid. These projects will contribute to the installation of electric charging points and hydrogen refuelling stations, as well as to the electrification of airports. Funding will come from the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF), part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). “This latest call has been the most successful regarding the projects’ number and quality so far, showing the growing interest in hydrogen and electric charging infrastructure”, said a delighted Commissioner for Transport, Adina Vălean. A call for AFIF applications is currently open, with a budget of €1 billion for the period 2024-2025 (see EUROPE 13361/6). (AD)
