10/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – The World Trade Organization (WTO) is predicting a rebound in trade in goods by 2024, according to its latest forecasts, published on Wednesday 10 April. Volume is set to increase by 2.6% this year and even more in 2025 (3.3%). The advanced economies should benefit the most, according to the authors of the report, and consumption of manufactured goods should be stimulated as a result. They warn, however, that geopolitical tensions pose a risk to trade. For example, while the impact of the crisis in the Red Sea is still limited, certain sectors such as automotive products and fertilisers could experience delays and higher freight costs.
