02/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 5 June, the European Commissioners for Transparency, Věra Jourová, and the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, will meet the signatories of the enhanced Code of Practice on Disinformation (see EUROPE 13190/35), who submitted their initial baseline reports in February 2023. The Commission expects an increase in the number of reports for the next cycle in July 2023. These reports will run in parallel with the systemic risk assessment exercise, including disinformation, planned for large online platforms under the DSA (see EUROPE 13185/5). “The Code’s first reporting exercise has provided us with unprecedented data on how platforms are tackling disinformation, but it has also shown that there is still so much to be done in terms of fact-checking, content moderation and data access for researchers”, commented Mr Breton.
