02/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) approved, on Tuesday 30 May, the proposal by the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to modify the methodology for calculating scheduled exchanges resulting from a single ‘day-ahead’ coupling (SDAC) (‘day-ahead trading’ refers to the trading of electricity prices for the following day). The TSOs have identified improvements to be made to the methodology, in particular for the calculation of scheduled exchanges between the trading hubs of nominated electricity market operators (NEMO). ACER assessed whether the changes would “contribute to market integration, non-discrimination, effective competition and proper functioning of the EU electricity market”. TSOs must now implement the methodology for calculating scheduled exchanges resulting from the SDAC no later than three months after its approval, i.e. before 30 August 2023. (PLD)
