02/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Danish authorities submitted, on Wednesday 31 May, a revised draft recovery plan, now with €1.63 billion in grants alone, to include a ‘REPowerEU’ chapter designed to accelerate the energy transition and reduce the European Union’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels (see EUROPE 12782/21). This chapter covers four main measures: the development of renewable energies (finalisation of a call for the production of 4 GW of electricity from offshore wind turbines), the development of skills linked to the climate transition, the replacement of oil and gas boilers, and increased carbon storage.
