France requires European authorisation to lighten tax burden on diesel fuel in favour of lorry drivers

Brussels, 06/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - If the French authorities plan to alleviate the burden of taxes on diesel fuel for road hauliers, then they should first of all notify their plan to the European Commission, stated the spokesperson for European Tax Commissioner Frits Bolkestein, on Wednesday.
