ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The French telecommunications equipment manufacturer ALCATEL and the japanese FUJITSU have created a joint venture named EVOLIUM and 60% held by ALCATEL and 34% by FUJITSU. The new company will be responsible for the development of mobile telephony systems of second and third generation, in particular the European UMTS system.
