According to the Financial Times, the British press group EMAP PLC is candidate for the acquisition of TIMES MIRROR MAGAZINES (turnover of USD 279 million in 1999), the "magazine" branch of the American group TIMES MIRROR estimated at USD 400 million. The Americans PRIMEDIA and ZIFF-DAVIS would also be candidates for the acquisition.
