European Union backs strengthening of ties between OSCE governmental and parliamentary bodies and reform of OSCE Secretariat

Brussels, 06/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - Last week the European Union made a statement before the OSCE Permanent Council (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe) on the activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the reform of the organisation's Secretariat. The EU first congratulated the new President of the Parliamentary Assembly, Mr. Severin, and then made the following statement:
