The American group AES CORP (turnover of USD 3.3 billion in 1999) will acquire IPALCO ENTERPRISES, an electricity producer through coal power stations with 433,000 clients, for USD 2.15 billion. AES is present in 20 countries, has stakes in 141 power stations with a client base of more than 19 millions people.
