The American firm EXCITE@HOME (Internet access) will merge its international activities with the pan-European group CHELLO, subsidiary of the cable operator UPC - UNITED PAN COMMUNICATIONS during a transaction estimated at USD 5 billion. Named EXCITE CHELLO, the new unit, which will become the main access and internet services provider via cable in the world, will have 300,000 subscribers throughout 15 countries.
