Adoption of three Training/Employment programmes in the UK - Social Funds to intervene with 4.1 bn euro in England, 132.2 million in East Wales and 499 million in Scotland

Brussels, 19/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted three decisions approving, under Objective 3 of the regional policy, education, training and employment "operational programmes" in favour of West Wales, Scotland and England. With a seven-year duration (2000-2006), these programmes will be funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and inaugurate the new programming period of the Structural Funds.
