The Dutch publisher VNU will acquire from the British UNITED NEWS & MEDIA its subsidiary MILLER FREEMAN USA (turnover of USD 214 million in 1999 with 800 employees), one of the largest organises of professional trade fairs in North America, for a total of around EUR 695 million.
