Vienna, 20/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel reacted to the latest remarks by Jörg Haider on a possible withdrawal of Austria from the European Union (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.3) through a press release in which, without quoting the Corinthian governor, he asserted that the Austrian know very well that their membership of the EU "serves their interests and those of their country."
