The European Ombudsman's activity increased considerably in 1999 - Criticisms about recruitment of European civil servants

Brussels, 20/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - European Ombudsman Jacob Söderman has presented his annual report for 1999 to the European Parliament Committee on Petitions, chaired by Vitaliano Gemelli (Cristiani Democratici Uniti). This report, which reviews the cases examined last year, makes it possible to zero in on the Ombudsman's "verdicts" in the area of mismanagement.
