Brussels, 02/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - At the conclusion of a debate on the economic and environmental consequences of the accident involving the oil tanker Erika, on Wednesday the European Parliament adopted a resolution asking the owners of the vessel and its cargo to recognise their liability and to compensate victims "by financing the clean-up of the areas affected by the disaster and paying for the ecological damage".
