EP committee on Economic Affairs will not make opening up of financial services subject to progress in tax harmonisation

Brussels, 01/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday the EP's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs did not respond to the call by its Chair (Mrs Randzio-Plath, PES Germany) and the Greens to boycott all issues concerning the opening up of financial services as long as the problems of savings taxation are not resolved.
