01/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The ecologist organisations "Bird Life International", "France Nature Environment" and the "Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux" handed a petition to European Parliament President Nicole Fontaine on Wednesday. It calls on the European Parliament to maintain adequate protection of migratory birds, in the context of the amendments to the 1979 directive on the protection of wild birds.
