Brussels, 01/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - In addition to decisions on regional aid maps (see preceding page), the European Commission adopted on Wednesday several decisions on state aid and competition policy, as follows. It:
- approved a German scheme for the textile company Delon Filament, in Rudolstadt (Thüringen),
- closed the procedure concerning an Italian scheme for a theme park, Parco Navi, in Cattolica, concluding that it was not state aid,
- initiated a formal investigation into the Swedish scheme for reduction of social security contributions in the northern part of the country,
- approved Finland's scheme for interest-rate reductions on loans for the acquisition of cargoes,
- authorised the US firm Kohlberg Kravis Robert (KKR) to acquire control of Bosch Telekom Private Network, an operation that will not affect the market, either vertically or horizontally,
- authorised the German firm Man Nutzfahrzeuge Aktiengesellschaft (MAN) to take over the British lorry maker ERF (holding),
- authorised the takeover of some of Ericsson's activities (in Sweden and France) by Selectron (US),
- initiated an investigation into Italian aid to five steelworks (justified on the basis of environmental objectives, about which the Commission has doubts).
