As expected, PAI - PARIBAS AFFAIRES INDUSTRIELLES, and its ally DANONE, on the one hand, and NABISCO, associated with HICKS, MUSE, TATE & FURST, on the other, have agreed to share UNITED BISCUITS, group they were coveting. They will put in a joint bid of £1.25 bn. NABISCO would have a 26% stake in the new structure, MUSE, SINVEM and PAI sharing the remaining in three thirds. DANONE will take over UB's activities in Malaysia, Singapore, Scandinavia, Finland, Poland and Hungary, as well as its snacks activities in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
