ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) breweries

The Danish brewer CARLSBERG is interested in the brewery activities recently put up for sale by the British group BASS. Financial analysts estimate the division's worth at GBP 1.8 billion. Further, BASS and the American firm BRISTOL & RESORTS (112 hotels) have concluded a deal under which BASS will pay USD 157 million for the hotel operator. BASS HOTELS & RESORTS, the hotel division of the BASS group, operates more than 2,800 hotels in over 90 countries.
