By adopting the report by Veronika Vrecionová (ECR, Czech) on the welfare of dogs and cats (457 votes in favour, 17 against and 86 abstentions), in Strasbourg on Thursday 19 June, the European Parliament has strengthened certain provisions proposed by the European Commission.
The European Parliament will initiate negotiations with the Council to reach a compromise (see EUROPE B13652A3).
