Council of Europe and UNHCR call on European states to continue and step up protection of refugees

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, and Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, issued a joint Declaration on Thursday 19 June, World Refugee Day, in which they recall that nearly 12 million refugees have found protection in the 46 member states of the Council of Europe.
