European Patent Office rewards young inventors of year

19/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Patent Office (EPO) awarded three prizes as part of the ‘Young Inventors Prize 2025’ at a ceremony in Iceland on Wednesday 18 June. Franco-American chemist Marie Perrin has won the ‘World Builders’ prize for her method of recycling rare earths from fluorescent lamps. The Ugandan team, made up of Sandra Namboozo and Samuel Muyita, won the ‘Community Healers’ prize for their biodegradable sachets that reduce fruit spoilage. American...
