Javier Solana believes Europeans and Iranians are close to final agreement

Brussels, 09/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - The EU's High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, confirmed on 8 November that Germany, France and the United Kingdom are coming close to a final agreement with Teheran on the cessation of Iran's uranium enrichment nuclear programme. If concluded, the agreement will mean there is no longer any reason to take Iran before the United Nations Security Council (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.6).
