The Norwegian consumer goods group ORKLA has launched an offer of EUR 320 million for the shares it has not yet managed to acquire in the Finnish CHIPS company (snacks; turnover EUR 298 million in 2003 with workforce of 1300). ORKLA already controlled 20.4% of CHIPS and is proposing EUR 22.85 per share for the remainder, which subsequently put the value of the company at EUR 402 million.
