Likelihood of reaching framework agreement in July on liberalisation of farm trade is decreasing, Member States say - Criticism of Commission and G20 position

Brussels, 07/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - During their meeting last Friday, trade experts of EU Member States (Committee 133) expressed pessimism about the likelihood of coming to a framework agreement at the WTO by the end of July on arrangements for liberalisation of farm trade. They noted the negative attitude of the G90 countries composed of mainly African poor countries, and criticised the lack of consistency in recent proposals of the G20, piloted by Brazil and India (EUROPE of 2 June...
