Brussels, 06/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of his visit to Fiji, Poul Nielson, European Development Commissioner, signed with the Prime Minister of Fiji, Laisanje Qarase, the national indicative programme and the strategy document that will guide cooperation between the EU and Fiji under the Cotonou Agreement (see EUROPE of 30 January, p.11). The financial allocation to this ACP country from the 9th European Development Fund is EUR 23.1 million for the period 2003-2007.
