Brussels, 06/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - Enlargement Commissioner Günter Verheugen said after a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister in Brussels on Friday that he felt optimistic about there being a settlement over Cyprus. When asked about the invitation made by Kofi Annan to the two commuities to meet next Thursday in New York, Mr Verheugen commented: "My view is that the resumption of talks means that the involved parties are basically already agreed that there will be a settlement....
