ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) electricity

The public company GAZ DE FRANCE is in exclusive negotiations with EDF- ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE and CDF- CHARBONNAGES DE FRANCE to acquire 35% of the capital of SNET- SOCIETE NATIONALE DE L'ELECTRICITE ET DE THERMIQUE. The Spanish electrical operation ENDESA is also in talks to increase from 30% to 65% its share in SNET, currently split between CDF (51.25%), ENDESA (30%) and EDF (18.75%). ENDESA and GDF will eventually be the two shareholders of SNET with 65% and 35% of the capital respectively.
