Patten visits Cairo and Amman

Cairo, 17/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - European External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten held talks early this week in Cairo with President Hosni Mubarek and members of the government. The aim of this visit to Egypt and then to Jordan, in addition to examining cooperation with each of these countries in the context of implementing association agreements (the agreement with Egypt has still not been ratified), is in order to exchange views on the situation in the Middle East.
