Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The comments by Commissioner Franz Fischler, on Wednesday in Rabat (see EUROPE of 22 February, p.7), are eloquent in showing the deadlock in which the fisheries agreement, painstakingly sought by European Union and Moroccan negotiators, now finds itself. Although there are differences over technical issues, negotiations have made it possible to reach a consensus on a large number of the elements of the contract, but not on price.
