ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

According to the Wall Street Journal, the American equipment manufacturer LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES is considering selling OPTICAL FIBER SOLUTIONS, its subsidiary specialised in fibre optic cables in order to reduce its debt burden. This company had a turnover of around USD 2 billion for the 2000 financial year and employs around 6,000 people.
