Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - In Skopje on 23 February, The EU's high representative for Cfsp, Javier Solana and the European Commissioner for External Relations, Chris Patten, are taking part in the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the countries of the "South Eastern European Cooperation Process", which will end with a "Declaration of Acceptance of the Charter on Good Neighbourly Relations, Stability, Security and Cooperation in South Eastern Europe", and, moreover, adopt an Action plan for Economic Cooperation aimed at encouraging regional economic cooperation. In addition, Macedonia/Fyrom and the Fry should formally sign an agreement on the demarcation of their borders.
Participating in the Summit, other than the President of Macedonia/Fyrom Boris Tajkovski, are the Heads of State or Government of Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Croatia is taking part as observer.
On the fringe of the Summit, Javier Solana is to have bilateral talks with the Romanian President Ion Illiescu and with Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica.
