Commission refers Netherlands and Belgium for persistent non-respect of Directive relating to animal experimentation

Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commission decided to take a further step in the infringement proceeding engaged against the Netherlands and Belgium, two Member States which, despite one or several warnings, persist not to strictly conform with the Community legislation concerning the protection of animals used for experimentation or other scientific ends (Directive 86/609/EEC).
