Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Belgian European Movement and the Philip Morris Institute are organising, with a view to the future Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, a seminar on the "economic and monetary Union and European taxation policy".
The seminar, to be held in Brussels during the morning of 26 March, will be opened by the president of the European Investment Bank, Philippe Maystadt. Among those taking part will be MEP Marianne Thysssen and Director General for Taxation and Customs Union at the European Commission Michel Vanden Abeele. Finally, Belgian Finance Minister Didier Reynders will present "Belgium's position on EMU and on European tax policy during the Belgian Presidency".
