Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Harvard European Union Centre is organising, this spring in Cambridge (Massachusetts), a conference on the general theme "Visions of European Governance":
15 March: Mr Burghardt, Head of the European Commission Delegation to Washington, Mr Eliasson, Swedish Ambassador to the United States and Mr Petite, Chef de cabinet of President Prodi, will discuss transatlantic relations;
22 March: Commissioner Mr Vitorino will take part in a roundtable on the theme of "Freedom, Security and Justice";
11 April: Mr Cox, President of the EP's Liberal group will discuss "The European Parliament and the "democratic deficit" Post Nice";
19 April: Commissioner Mr Monti will discuss "European competition policy and international cooperation";
9 May: the Commission Secretary General Mr O'Sullivan will make a presentation of the theme "Life begins at 40: the role of the European Commission in an enlarging European Union".
