Brussels, 22/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Party of European Socialists headed by German Defence Minister Rudolf Scharping is to hold its fifth congress, on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 May in Berlin. It will be attended by the Socialist and Social Democrat Heads of Government of the EU Member States and the leaders of the parties belonging to the PES, as well as several European Commissioners and leaders of parties from Central and Eastern Europe.
