Concrete progress towards creation of a European legal area for civilian and commercial matters

Brussels, 30/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The JHA Council meeting on Thursday at Justice Minister level (for the work of Friday's Home Affairs Ministers meeting see next page), chaired by the French Finance Minister Marylise Lebranchu, will remain in the annals of European construction in that it sparked of the first concrete stages of the creation of a legal area for civilian and commercial matters. Here is a summary of the main results:
