ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The Dutch group UPC - UNITED PAN EUROPE COMMUNICATIONS concluded an agreement with the DEUTSCHE BANK in cable networks. According to this agreement, the German bank will take over part of TELE COLUMBUS for EUR 340 million. TELE COLUMBUS provides cable television programmes to two million homes in Germany. Thanks to this operation, DEUTSCHE BANK will take on around 470,000 subscribers from TELE COLUMBUS.
